The Last Post Association app serves as a comprehensive resource for those interested in learning about the activities of the Last Post Association and honoring the memory of soldiers who fought and perished in Flanders Fields during the Great War. It also provides valuable information about the Menin Gate and the role of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

As a research tool, the app enables users to search through an extensive database of nearly 55,000 soldiers commemorated on the Menin Gate. The interface includes a detailed map linking each soldier's name to their specific location on the memorial, facilitating precise identification of individual panels. This database has been sourced from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission as of March 2015. Notably, only soldiers inscribed on the Menin Gate are covered within this application.

The app further includes a timeline feature, which displays casualty figures segmented by year, month, and day. Users can access lists of soldiers who died on specific dates, offering a poignant perspective on the scale and timing of losses during the conflict.

Additionally, the application contains approximately 400 personal narratives recounting individual soldiers’ stories. For each day of the year, one or more detailed accounts are available, selectable via a calendar interface for ease of use.

Most functionalities of the app are accessible offline, allowing users to explore its features without an internet connection. An internet connection is only necessary when making donations to support the Last Post Association or when wishing to honor an individual soldier’s memory.
